Get ready
- Blow up a few balloons (have extras in case one pops).
- Stretch a rope between two chairs at about shoulder height, or set a line of chairs across the room.
- Split kids into two teams, one on each side.
How to play
- One team serves by batting the balloon over the net.
- Teams hit the balloon back and forth. Each team may hit it up to three times before sending it over.
- If the balloon touches the floor on your side, the other team gets a point.
- The team that scored serves next.
- Play to 10 points, or add more balloons for a wild ending.
Tips & variations
- Kids can play sitting on the floor with a lower net. This works great for preschoolers or kids who use wheelchairs.
- Check for latex allergies before playing, or use a beach ball instead.
- Pick up balloon pieces right away if one pops.
