Rock Paper Scissors Tag

Get ready

1. Mark a center line and a safe line about 20 feet behind each side.
2. Split kids into two teams, each standing on one side of the center line facing each other.

How to play

1. Each team huddles and secretly picks rock, paper, or scissors.
2. Teams line up at the center line and say together, "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!" and show their team's choice.
3. The winning team chases the losing team back to their safe line.
4. Anyone tagged before reaching safety joins the other team.
5. If both teams pick the same thing, huddle and try again. Play until one team is huge or time runs out.

Tips & variations

• Have each team pick a backup choice in case of a tie, so the game keeps moving.
• Make sure kids know which way to run before you start the first round.
• Huddling helps quieter kids get a voice in the team choice.
