Get ready
- Clear a space on the floor big enough for every kid to lie down.
- Pick one or two kids to be the first hunters.
How to play
- Everyone except the hunters lies down, gets comfy, and closes their eyes.
- Say, "The lions are sleeping!" From now on, lions must stay completely still and quiet.
- Hunters walk around trying to make lions move or laugh by telling jokes, making funny noises, or talking.
- Hunters may not touch the lions.
- Any lion who moves, opens their eyes, or giggles gets up and becomes a hunter too.
- The last lion still sleeping wins and can be the first hunter next round.
Tips & variations
- Turn the lights down for an extra calm feel before pickup time.
- Remind hunters: funny is fine, mean is not. No comments about anyone's looks.
📖 Bible connection
Daniel spent a whole night in a den of real lions, and God shut their mouths so they could not hurt him (Daniel 6:22). God is with us even in scary places.
