Get ready
- Place a chair at the front with its back to the group.
- Have the other kids sit on the floor facing the chair.
How to play
- Pick one kid to be the doggy. They sit in the chair facing away with the bone under the chair.
- Point to a quiet kid who tiptoes up, takes the bone, and hides it behind their back. Everyone else hides their hands too.
- The group chants, "Doggy, doggy, where's your bone? Somebody stole it from your home!"
- The doggy turns around and gets three guesses to find who has the bone.
- If the doggy guesses right, they stay doggy or pick the next one. If not, the bone-taker becomes the doggy.
Tips & variations
- Have the bone-taker say "Woof!" in a disguised voice as an extra clue.
- Make sure every child gets a turn as doggy or bone-taker before you stop.
