Wink Detective

Get ready

1. Seat everyone in a circle where they can see each other's faces.
2. Prepare one slip per player, with one slip marked X.

How to play

1. Choose one player to be the detective and have them step out of earshot or close their eyes.
2. Hand out the slips. Whoever gets the X is the secret winker. Everyone keeps their slip hidden.
3. Bring the detective back to stand in the middle.
4. The winker quietly winks at players. If you get winked at, wait a couple of seconds, then dramatically "fall asleep" in your seat.
5. The detective gets three guesses to name the winker.
6. If the detective guesses right, they win. If the winker puts everyone to sleep first, the winker wins.

Tips & variations

• For kids who can't wink yet, let the winker stick out their tongue instead.
• Play a practice round so everyone understands to wait a moment before falling asleep.
