AgesK–2nd, 3rd–5th, PreteenKids14-35Time10-20 minWhereIndoorEnergyCalm
Get ready
- Choose seven children to stand at the front of the room.
- Everyone else sits with heads down, eyes closed, and one thumb up.
How to play
- The seven children quietly walk around and each press down one seated child's thumb.
- Kids whose thumbs are pressed put their hand down in their lap.
- When all seven are back at the front, the teacher calls “Heads up, seven up!”
- Kids whose thumbs were pressed stand up and guess who picked them.
- A correct guess means they switch places with that person. A wrong guess means they sit back down.
- Play as many rounds as you like.
Tips & variations
- For smaller groups, play “Heads Up, 4 Up” with fewer pickers.
