Spaceman

Get ready

1. Pick a word and draw one blank line for each letter on the board.

How to play

1. Kids take turns guessing one letter at a time.
2. If the letter is in the word, write it on every blank where it belongs.
3. If it's not, write it off to the side and draw one part of a spaceman or rocket.
4. Kids can guess the whole word anytime it's their turn.
5. The group wins if they solve it before the drawing is complete (about 8 parts).

Tips & variations

• Use a spaceman, snowman, or rocket instead of the traditional hangman drawing.
• Let the kid who solves it pick the next word.
• Use a word or phrase from today's lesson as a fun review.
