Get ready
- Mark the playing area.
- Choose 2-3 taggers depending on group size.
How to play
- On "Go," taggers chase the other players.
- If you are tagged, stand still with your arms stretched out to the side. You are stuck in the mud.
- A free player can rescue you by ducking under your arm.
- Taggers try to get everyone stuck at the same time.
- Swap taggers every 2-3 minutes.
Tips & variations
- Kids who need a break can be the "mud checker" who counts stuck players for you.
- Give taggers a pool noodle to tag with if you want gentler tags.
- Shrink the playing area if the taggers are having a hard time.
π Bible connection
In Psalm 40:2, David says God lifted him out of the mud and set his feet on a rock. God rescues us when we're stuck, and he sends us to help others too.
