Get ready
- Write a review question or prompt on each colored section of the beach ball.
- Good prompts that work with any lesson: "Who was in the story?", "Where did it happen?", "What was the problem?", "What did God do?", "Say the memory verse", "How can you live this out?"
How to play
- Have kids stand or sit in a loose group.
- Toss the beach ball to a kid.
- Whoever catches it looks at where their right thumb landed and reads that question out loud.
- They answer it (friends can help if they're stuck).
- They gently toss the ball to someone who hasn't had a turn yet.
- Keep going until everyone has had a chance.
Tips & variations
- Use general questions on the ball so you can use the same ball every week.
- Pre-readers can hand the ball to a leader to read the question for them.
- Popped beach balls are a choking hazard for little ones. Throw away any broken pieces right away.
π Bible connection
Because the questions are general, this game trains kids to ask the same good questions every time they read the Bible on their own: Who? What happened? What does this teach me about God?
