Ages3rd–5th, PreteenKids2-25Time10-15 minWhereIndoorEnergyCalm

Get ready

  1. Pick 8-12 verses from today's lesson or memory verse passage.
  2. Make sure every player has a closed Bible.

How to play

  1. Kids hold their closed Bible at their side or on their lap.
  2. Say "Attention!" and kids hold their Bibles up in front of them, still closed.
  3. Call out the reference, like "John 3:16," and repeat it once.
  4. Say "Charge!" and everyone races to find the verse.
  5. The first kid to find it stands up and reads it out loud.
  6. Talk for a few seconds about how that verse fits today's lesson, then call the next one.

Tips & variations

  • Pair a strong finder with a newer kid so nobody gets left behind.
  • Give the book's location as a hint for beginners ("It's in the Old Testament, near the middle").
  • Keep a table of contents bookmark handy for kids who are brand new to the Bible.

πŸ“– Bible connection

Ephesians 6:17 calls God's Word "the sword of the Spirit." Remind kids that knowing their way around the Bible helps them stand strong when they face hard things.
