Steal the Bacon

Get ready

1. Make two lines about 20-30 feet apart and place the bacon in the middle.
2. Split kids into two even teams. Each team lines up on its own line.
3. Number off each team so both teams have a 1, 2, 3, and so on.

How to play

1. The leader calls a number, like "4!"
2. The player with that number from each team runs to the middle.
3. Try to grab the bacon and run it back to your team's line without being tagged.
4. If you carry it home safely, your team gets a point. If the other player tags you first, their team gets the point.
5. Put the bacon back and call a new number.

Tips & variations

• Call two or three numbers at once to get more kids moving.
• Pair kids with similar speed by giving them the same number.
• Tag with one hand only. No grabbing or pulling the bacon from someone's hands.
