How to play

  1. One player secretly thinks of a person, place, animal, or thing.
  2. They tell the group which kind it is, like "It's an animal."
  3. The group takes turns asking yes-or-no questions, like "Does it live in water?"
  4. Count the questions out loud. The group gets 20 questions total.
  5. If someone guesses it before 20, they pick the next secret. If not, the thinker wins and goes again or chooses someone.

Tips & variations

  • Keep a tally on a whiteboard so everyone can see how many questions are left.
  • For younger kids, allow unlimited questions and just celebrate the guess.
