Who Started the Motion?

Get ready

1. Have everyone sit or stand in a circle.
2. Choose one kid to be the guesser.

How to play

1. Send the guesser out of the room or have them close their eyes and cover their ears.
2. Silently point to one kid in the circle to be the secret leader.
3. The leader starts a motion like clapping or patting knees, and everyone copies it.
4. Bring the guesser back to the middle. The leader keeps switching motions every few seconds while everyone follows along.
5. The guesser gets three guesses to name the leader.
6. When the leader is found (or the guesses run out), pick a new guesser and leader.

Tips & variations

• Coach the circle not to stare at the leader. Teach them to watch someone across the circle instead.
• Give the leader ideas before starting: snap, wave, touch your nose, stomp, thumbs up.
